Procreate - ipad Procreate is an amazing ipad app for creating illustrations and annimations. It is definately the best. It has 100's of brushes, colors, and other features. It is used as a beginner and professional tool. However, it does cost $9.99
Canva Canva is great graphic design resource for creating posters, presentations, t-shirts, etc. It is easier than Adobe Photoshop but more superior to Adobe Spark.
Art Rage - Vitea Is a realistic painting app for IOS/Android for $2.99 It gives you layers and blends along with many realistic painting/drawing features.
Sketchbook Is a free app on IOS/Andriod/Mac/Windows used for creating, sketching, drawing, etc.

Ann Arbor Art Center A bit of a drive from Walled Lake, but definitely worth the trip. Many classes are student centered and offered for middle to high school level students.
Youth Classes at CCS This is an amazing program for students ages 8-15 who really want to study art and are looking to build their artistic skills. It is a little pricey but definitely worth the price as all courses are taught by the college of creative studies professors in their labs. Each Saturday is focused on a specific subject such as Fashion Design, Digital Animation and Drawing. A great place to build your portfolio.
STAMPS @ UofM A pre-college program for artists in 9th thru 12th grade this is a great summer camp where you attend for a week and build your portfolio.
Heath Art Local Art Workshop in Rochester, MI that focuses on a variety of art skills, mostly figure drawing and painting.
Plymouth Arts Center Art classes in the Plymouth - Canton area for preschool through senior citizens.
Metro Michigan Arts Center I know Ms. Radin and Ms. Hernreich through Walled Lake Central High School and they are amazing artists and art teachers. They have started a this Art Center for students and adults looking for more artistic workshops.
Donna Roskamp HER SITE IS CURRENTLY DOWN, I'm looking into this and will update when I have more information. A local artist who teaches through local community ed courses simple techniques on how to paint and draw. Her classes are very user friendly and good for all ages I would recommend that students under 6th take her children's course though.

Doodle 4 Google Create your own google logo design based on their yearly theme. The competition time has changed from the end of the school year to October so begin creating those designs.
PTA Reflections Write, draw, create music etc for the PTA program. All entries are entered into your teacher and then displayed as a building presentation at the WL PTSA Reflections show.
Scholastic Art and Writing Awards An annual competition that is regional and national. Since, 1923 Scholastic has celebrated the best teen artwork in the country. You can enter visual art in 16 different categories, such as drawing, painting, photography, and graphic design.
MAEA Art Competition Every year I get to choose up to 4 artworks to go to the regional art show. Artworks with a strong artist statement and strong art skills may continue on to the state level.
